Soomaal Visual Arts Fellowship
is an initiative by Soomaal House of Art in partnership with Augsburg University Art Galleries. Mohamed Hersi and Wasima Farah, the selected 2024-25 fellows, will produce a body of work that will culminate in an exhibition at Augsburg University. During the twelve-month fellowship year, each artist receives studio visits, access to technical assistance and a culminating gallery exhibition at Augsburg University.

diinsi abuur: Broadcast Signals
marks a significant milestone in the ongoing cultural exchange between Somali-Canadian and Somali-American communities that began three years ago. This exhibition is part of the diinsi abuur program—an initiative dedicated to fostering reciprocal exchanges of artists and artistic ideas across regions with a focus on Somali diaspora communities.

Soomaal House has been awarded the 2024-2027 ArchivesSpace Diversity Partnership, enhancing our archives' digital and physical accessibilities. The Soomaal House Library & Archives Center, supporting Somali artists and communities in Minnesota and beyond, focuses on three areas: Contemporary Somali Art, History of Somali Minnesotans, and History of Somalia & Somalis in the diaspora.
